OSIT holds STEM Leaders Academy

Published on: August 26, 2018

The Governor’s Office of Science, Innovation, and Technology (OSIT) is excited to announce the 2018-2019 STEM Leaders Academy! The academy is intended for schools, of all levels, that are interested in increasing engagement in STEM education.
During the academy, schools will participate in five workshops across the year geared toward best practices and development of a school STEM strategic plan. Participating schools will finish the academy with an understanding of STEM best practices and the Nevada STEM Framework, a vetted strategic plan, insight from stakeholders, access to grants up to $20,000 to implement the plan, and multiple opportunities for feedback.
Participating schools are encouraged to apply for the Governor’s STEM Designation and participate in an end-of-year student showcase. An overview of the academy, as well as an application are attached.
