Northern Nevada Science & Technology Festival (NNSTF) is looking for STEM professionals interested in participating in some of the festival events. The NNSFT wants to bring teachers, K-12 students, and STEM college students together, with STEM professionals, to highlight STEM skills, educational events, and careers.
Some of the events a STEM professional could participate in include:
Feb. 13, 2020 – STEM Professional Mixer at The Discovery – This social gathering will help you get to know local teachers interested in having STEM professionals work with their students.
Feb-May 2020 – Women in STEM Job Shadowing/Mentoring Opportunities – Work with female UNR STEM-minded students in a guidance capacity throughout the spring semester. Time commitment varies with your availability.
Feb-May 2020 – STEM Ambassador Program – work with teachers on STEM related projects in their classrooms, give talks to students about STEM careers, and/or provide opportunities for touring your business or facility that utilize STEM skills.
April 30, 2020 –K-12 STEM Challenge hosted by The Discovery – An Office of Science, Innovation and Technology (OSIT) sponsored event, held at The Discovery. Enjoy K-12 student projects in a relaxed setting where you can ask questions, give suggestions, and review the innovative ideas our young Nevada students created during the Governor’s challenge.
