Bret Sibley, Past President
Bret Sibley is a K-12 Regional Science Trainer for the Southern Nevada Regional Professional Development Program (SNRPDP). After graduating from the State University of New York at Fredonia (SUNY Fredonia), Bret taught science at Green Valley High School, Henderson, NV. He earned a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In 2005 Bret received the highest honor bestowed by the United States government specifically for K-12 science educators, the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. At SNRPDP, he works to develop high-quality science professional development and accompanying resources to increase student achievement. As the Networking Team lead for the Nevada Next Generation Implementation Team, Bret developed and manages the Nevada Next Generation Science Education Website to keep Nevada stakeholders informed about the changing landscape of science education, as well as local, regional, and national science opportunities. He continues to serve as the Nevada Science Matters Coordinator for the state of Nevada, which even further fortifies the network through its connection with the National Science Teachers Association.
