About Me
Heather Witt, a native Nevadan, has been a science educator in the Clark Country School District for ten years and has spent the last four years teaching Biology at Arbor View High School. She previously taught 6-8 Science at K.O. Knudson Middle School, Lawrence Middle School, and Keller Middle School. Heather holds a deep belief that all students are capable of learning science. Her teaching focuses on using storylines with inquiry-based strategies to help students develop and revise their own understanding of science concepts. Heather earned a B.S. in kinesiological sciences and a M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a National Board Certified Teacher and is certified in general and biological science. Heather is the 2017 Nevada awardee for the national Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching. In her free time, Heather enjoys hiking, backpacking, and camping with her husband, Jose and their pit bull, Hera.
