Astronomy on Tap (Oct. 27th)

Join us at Astronomy Aleworks (7350 Eastgate Rd. #170, Henderson NV) on Oct. 27th for a spooky Astronomy on Tap event: The Horrors of Black Holes. Enjoy our hosts' delicious brews while hearing about the universe and competing in space-themed trivia (with prizes)! Plus come in costume! Prepare for trivia questions ranging from science to sci-history to sci-fi.

The event begins promptly at 7 pm for ages 21+ only. A ticket will be required and can be reserved for free. You can reserve up to 4 on Eventbrite. They will be released on Sunday, Oct 16.

This event UNLV professor Dr. Carl-Johan Haster, will talk about how to look for gravitational waves. Then graduate student Margaret Johnston will introduce the active galactic nucleus (AGN), the accretion disk that results from a supermassive black hole. No prior knowledge needed.
